12 Days of Christmas Swap: Days 5 through 7
It’s been really hard to contain myself and not open all the presents at once but I’ve managed to do that for a week. If you want to check out what gifts I opened during the first 4 days of the swap, you can go here and here.
This week it’s been incredibly cold here in town, and I especially feel it when I have to leave home at 5:30 a.m. to go to work! So, opening the next present and finding it was a box of apple cider drink mix, was a godsend. I curled up with my laptop and a blanket in the living room, and of course, some hot cider in the mug April gave me just one day prior.
I sort of knew I would be getting this, but that doesn’t make it any less of a fantastically awesome gift. On the sixth day of Christmas, April gave to me…a book WRITTEN BY HER! Thanks a lot, April, for the book (and the nice little message inside). I’m sure I’ll love it! I’ll start reading as soon as I finish the one I’m on now.
On the 7th day I opened this box of peach lemonade mix, which I wasn’t too thrilled about, to be honest. As I was about to leave the box in the pantry, I noticed there was tape at the top, which I found weird, so I opened it, and inside was this really festive, Christmas-tree shaped cookie cutter, which I loved! I don’t bake a lot but this will encourage me to do so during the holidays, plus it can also be a sandwich cutter!
I know, I want to open them all at once too!!
The apple cider is another tradition; my mother-in-law includes a box in every holiday gift basket she makes us.
I’ll bet you did expect my book. 🙂 I hope it entertains you!
Good thing you found the cookie cutter! The peach lemonade is not something to write home about. But that should be the only misleading packaging in there for you.

That’s another great tradition. I love hot beverages in the winter and apple cider is one of my favorites.
And I’m sure I’ll love your book. I expected to get it but I was also hoping for it. I would’ve been a little mad if I hadn’t gotten it! haha just kidding
OK, good to know 😉 And I’ll put the cookie cutter to use soon!

I don’t hate it, I just didn’t love getting it as a Christmas present. It’s too damn cold for lemonade!

It is never too cold for lemonade. However lemonade should never be pink. Or peach. Or anything but lemonade.

Ooh very cool. It’s weird but I kind of never imagined Mexico being cold… but I suppose people think the same thing about South Africa and there are places where it snows and drops below freezing during the day.

Yeah, there are parts of Mexico where there’s sub-zero temperatures throughout the winter. Here it’s not as bad, but it still gets really cold. This week has been intense!

You’re the lucky one among us to receive a book, written by the author herself, no less!
Christmas-shaped sandwiches sound like a fabulous idea 🙂

Yes. Receiving books is great and by the author herself is soo much better!
Haven’t used my cookie cutter yet, but I definitely will soon. Those sandwiches will taste so much better after I cut them into little Christmas trees, haha!
