HEARTS WANT in the press – only hours left on Kickstarter
UPDATE: Ruth has reached her goal and will be able to bring her project to fruition. Many thanks to those who contributed!
Hello everybody! Breaking radio silence for a bit here to invite you to contribute so my friend Ruth can make her much-anticipated short film, “Hearts Want”. Her Kickstarter campaign is in its final hours and she’s so close to reaching her goal! There are a lot of cool gifts you can get in exchange for your donation, which can be as low as 10 dollars. Every bit helps, and you’ll be supporting indie cinema and a wonderful person and blogger trying to make the film of her dreams!
Ok here’s the last Kickstarter post you’ll see here… Y’know what, whatever happens I’ll be so relieved when it’s done. If you think it’s tough making a film, well, try launching a Kickstarter campaign 😉
We’re in the home stretch! Just 63 hours left to go… we’re so close, help us cross the finish line https://t.co/Wk41W3A2Xy#supportindiefilmpic.twitter.com/UJTrVQyEyt

…
We’re still only 75% funded with mere hours left as I’m done posting this. I’m a glass half-full kind of person so I’m extremely grateful for our backers! Of course I’m not gonna lie I’m nervous we won’t meet our goal… and if you’re not familiar with Kickstarter, it’s an all-or-nothing campaign which means if we don’t meet our goal we’ll get nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
But hey I’m optimistic 😬 … [well what choice do I have]… and I’m super grateful for my friends…

Fernando!!!! OMG you are the best, man. THANK YOU for your kind support. I’m so touched that you reblogged my post… AND for your pledge!
I had been thinking of you since Comic-con just happened this weekend, though I barely had time to follow any of it. Did you go this year? I don’t think I’ll ever go again as it’s so impossible to get tickets, but I do want to visit my friend again in SD so we absolutely should meet up again.
Thanks so much for EVERYTHING!! ❤

Hi, Ruth! It’s the least I could do! I know how much this project means to you and how much you’ve worked on it! Glad to contribute at least a little towards your goal and hope someone that finds out about it from me does the same.
Yes, I did go to SDCC a few days and had a great time. Saw a lot of cool celebrities and had a lot of fun!
And yes, we definitely should meet up again when you’re in my neck of the woods!
Best of luck with the campaign!

Awwww… yes I will totally do the same if it were you or another blog friend following their dreams! I was so blessed to get the opportunity, and despite all the stress, running this campaign has been so worth the effort thanks to people like you.
Cool that you went to SDCC! Would you blog about it so I can live vicariously through you? Which celebs did you get to meet? I’m still jealous you met John Leguizamo!! He’s such a cool guy, LOVE him in the latest John Wick 2. I also saw an indie film he’s in called 11:55, you should check that out.
When my plans to visit firm up later this year I’ll definitely email you!

So glad to see that you’ve reached your Kickstarter goal! And so happy I could chip in a little towards this milestone!
Sorry I’ve been so out of touch lately but after checking out one of your “Hearts Want” posts a few minutes ago I stumbled upon your personal FB page! Didn’t know you had one! Sent you a friend request 🙂
Don’t know if I’ll be able to blog about SDCC this week but you are welcome to check out all my FB posts from Saturday. I couldn’t get all that close to any celebrities, but I did get close enough to a few of them to take some pics. I was most excited to see Steven Spielberg and also the cast of Westworld.
We’ll definitely keep in touch!
