Sam Smith debuts Spectre theme song

I know I haven’t posted in a long while, and I know it’s really late for most of my readers, but I just couldn’t resist coming back to my digital home and share the terribly exciting news (at least for me) that Sam Smith’s long-awaited (again, at least by me) Bond theme, The Writing’s on the Wall, is finally here!

Rumors started swirling months ago, then Sam uploaded this to Instagram…

…and hours later he confirmed he was the chosen one for the job. Ever since, I’ve been counting the minutes until the premiere and this. is. it.

If you follow me on social media, you know I’m a HUGE fan of Sam but, despite that, I had a nagging fear that his Bond theme was going to be a rehash of Adele’s superb Skyfall.

Well, I’m happy to say it isn’t. Smith’s haunting theme definitely has that classic Bond feel but it’s unique enough to stand on its own and will undoubtedly become a hit. It gave me intense chills and a song hadn’t done that for me in a while.

Here it is, folks. Click that play button.

So, what did you think of the song? Do you think an Oscar is in Sam’s near future? Tell me in the comments!
