How I met Ruth
While I debate with myself about my busy schedule and my inability to find the time for blogging and wondering if I’ll ever return here, I (re)share with all of you who haven’t forgotten me a special Throwback Thursday post. One year ago yesterday, on November 26th, 2013, I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Ruth (from FlixChatter) in San Diego. Here’s how it went.
During the three years that I’ve had this here blog, I’ve met some wonderful people; many of those I consider my friends. But all those meetings had been virtual and I had yet to know a fellow blogger in “the real world”.
That changed last Tuesday. My dear friend and blogger extraordinaire Ruth Maramis from FlixChatter came over to neighbor city San Diego for Thanksgiving, so I knew we had to meet up for a cup of coffee and a chat.
She was available on Tuesday, and I was going to SD that day anyway for a Michael Bublé concert, so the timing was perfect, but leave it to the wildly unpredictable border crossing to almost ruin the whole thing!
I braved the long lines, the traffic and was a bit (ok, a lot) late to Café Terrace at Fashion Valley Mall, but Ruth was so nice and comprehensive.

Oh man!!! How in the world did I miss this post?? THANK YOU Fernando! I so enjoyed our brief time chatting about life & movies, you’re so easy to talk to! I was hoping to visit SD again this past Thanksgiving but timing didn’t work out. Maybe next time you can visit MN? In the Summer months it’s actually very hot here 😉 Cheers my friend and hope to see you again soon!

I had a great time, Ruth! Can’t believe that was more than a year ago. Would love to see you again, either here or in MN.

Haha, dang, Ruth gets around! I’ve gotten the pleasure of her company a few times, both in Chicago and in her home state of Minnesota. Meeting other bloggers truly is the best. I got to meet a handful of them at a meet-up in Chicago when Ryan from The Matinee (who lives in Canada) came over for a vacation. If I ever find myself in the San Diego area, I’d love to meet up with you, Fernando! Plus, you obviously have awesome taste in music if you were going to see Michael Buble. I just saw him in concert this past summer!! 🙂

That is so damn cool! And yes, we should def meet up if I’m ever near you or viceversa.
Michael’s concert was superb. It was my second time seeing him live. I actually went to Anaheim the following day to catch Justin Timberlake. That show was the best I’ve EVER been to.

I’d love that! If I’m on the West Coast or you’re in the Mid-West, then we’re on! 😉
Aww, that’s so cool! It was my second time seeing him live this year as well. Oh wow! I have yet to see JT in concert. I can only imagine!
