Dear Diary: I’m an undersexed housewife…
… or at least it seems that way, judging on how much I liked the heavily-anticipated trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey.
I’ve never read any of those books (or any erotic novel, for that matter) but now I’m surprised at how much I enjoyed seeing Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan stare at each other in sexual tension, set to a killer new version of Queen B’s “Crazy in Love”.
Oh, and those final scenes: woof!
So yeah, I think I’ve turned into a middle-aged woman who likes mommy porn. Great!
Fifty Shades of Grey is coming to a sex dungeon cinema near you on Valentine’s Day (how fitting!) and stars Dornan, Johnson, Jennifer Ehle, Marcia Gay Harden and Rita Ora. It’s directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson (husband Aaron is rumored to make an appearance).
There are going to be a lot of goddamn baby showers circa next November 14 (or for those not wanting to do the math: approx 9 months after this release date). mmmmm. .

Seriously? Haven’t’ done any reading into this project (again, cuz its not speaking my language). Now I REALLY know why I’ve avoided information about it! Haha. wow. I will say the trailer is at the very least, interesting.

I don’t know EXACTLY how it came to be, but I knew it started as a Twilight fanfic and somewhere along the way it morphed into a story of its own. You can imagine how awful the writing must be.

I am right now, actually. Imagining that this is the final nail in 50 Shades of Gray’s coffin for me. Lol. That’s not gonna be good. Unless, of course, it is. Then I’ll go see it. 😀

So I avoided these books, and have not been of mind to change because everyone I know that read them reverted back to me with the consensus that I was definitely not going to be a fan of them whatsoever.
The trailer is pretty well constructed, but I can honestly say that I am very indifferent towards it.

This looks absolutely appalling and from what I’ve heard, the book has split people down the middle. I’ve no idea why there is so much hysteria around poorly written novels such as this (must be the Stephanie Meyer affect!), but if it floats you boat then good for you, Fernando!

Oh no, Fernando! The books were so awful. They were just dreadfully badly written and the trailer looks worse. Then again I will of course see it just to find out what the fuss is about.

That trailer was much better than I thought it would be! That version of Crazy in Love is beyond awesome, and just like with you, it just worked, as unlikely as it is. A few scenes are such ridiculous Twilight rip-offs, that bothered me — but maybe they’re trying to get the attention of the fangirls? Dunno. I just wanted to say that you’re not alone!

I’m not really that excited for this movie just because I have found the whole “Fifty Shades of Grey” books overrated (I’ve read the first, but didn’t find it to be well-written or unique). However, I really liked Beyonce’s new version of Crazy in Love and will be downloading that right away . . . 😀
