Coming Attractions: Gone Girl

A new David Fincher movie is an event I look forward to with the giddy anticipation of a child on Christmas morning. Second only to Pedro Almodóvar, he’s the director I most admire, with a body of work so impresssive it simultaneously makes me want to cry and obssesively watch it in its entirety.

Fincher alone has brought us Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Social Network, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, House of Cards, as well as this masterpiece.

Now we get a full-length trailer for the adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s super successful novel, Gone Girl, written for the screen by the author herself and, of course, directed by the filmmaker that has come to define the modern thriller.

On his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne finds out that his wife, Amy, has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick’s portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife?

Gone Girl will be released in October of 2014 and stars Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Patrick Fugit, Scoot McNairy, Casey Wilson and Missi Pyle.

What did you think of the trailer? Are you looking forward to this film? Are you already sick of Ben or are you #TeamAffleck?
