Girl Power
It’s International Women’s Day, so congrats to all the female readers of this blog! I hope that every day but especially every eighth day of March serves as a reminder that we are all equal and that there’s no such thing as “the weaker sex”.
Great women are not about everything pink and high heels and all those clichés; they come in all shapes and colors and sizes and walks of life.
Celebrate the great women in your life, the ones that inspire us to become great men: our mothers, sisters, friends and significant others. Here’s to you!
This is a movie blog, after all, so I wanted to share my favorite women in film. Who are yours?

From the top (clockwise): Amy Adams, Carey Mulligan, Frances McDormand, Jennifer Lawrence, Judi Dench, Penélope Cruz, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet and Laura Linney
Excellent tribute to such amazing and talented women.

Good post man. I would like to take this opportunity to nominate just five of my top favorite actresses: Marion Cotillard, Aubrey Plaza, Kate Winslet, Leslie Mann, and Olivia Wilde. That’s only five but that was hard to narrow down. lol

I obviously agree. Dench is one of those actresses who does a great job in everything. Carey Mulligan is pretty special, too.

Yes, beautiful AND talented, can’t go wrong w/ any of ’em. Interesting to see Frances McDormand on your list too, she hasn’t been in anything lately has she?

Exactly! And no, I haven’t seen her in anything for a while now. I miss her.

Have you seen Laurel Canyon btw? McDormand is definitely feisty and memorable in that one, quite a risque role for her. Christian Bale is great in it as well.

Haven’t seen that, actually. Though I’ve heard of it.

It’s not a great movie but still worth a look if you like the actors in it 😉

I definitely do. I think I’ll give it a try.
