Philip Seymour Hoffman [1967-2014]

Hello, everybody. I came in to work this Sunday to the terribly sad news that one of the best in the business and one of my personal favorite actors, Philip Seymour Hoffman, had been found dead in his apartment. He was 46.

The story is still developing, but you can keep track of it here.

Hoffman was an immense talent and an actor you could always trust in to give a solid performance. He was memorable in movies like Scent of a Woman, Charlie Wilson’s War, Doubt, Moneyball, Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, Magnolia, The Master, The Big Lebowski, Mission: Impossible III, Along Came Polly, Flawless, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Savages, Almost Famous, The Talented Mr. Ripley and Boogie Nights, among others. He won an Oscar in 2006 for Capote.

Rest in peace, Philip. You’ll be sorely missed.
