Flash Review: Now You See Me [2013]
Despite the ending not being up-to-par with the rest of the film, it’s not as bad as to spoil the whole experience (which is incredibly fun, I might add). This supremely entertaining movie tattooed a dumb smile on my face for 115 minutes and, if I wasn’t in a theater filled with people, I would’ve stood up and cheered. Dazzling visuals, sprightly music and a pretty cool cast (Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are especially good) help make this the finest movie of 2013 so far.
Some of it was interesting and cool, but overall, by the end of it all, I just felt cheated and like the movie played a fast one on me. All for my moolah, of course. Good review Fernando.

Thanks, Dan! I can definitely understand that but I couldn’t help but loving this film!

I’m curious how such a great movie left a DUMB smile on your face hahah.
I was going to object to the Vertigo implication in the poster, but I’ll let you slide, not because I’ve not seen the movie (I haven’t though I will), but because this is as divisive as Vertigo was in 58. Look at it now.

Well, what I meant is that I must’ve looked really dumb with all the insane smiling and jaw-dropping!
And yes, it’s been very divisive but I really don’t understand. I thought it was insanely fun!

I hate how many people like this movie lol. I thought it was one of the worst things I’ve seen this year and I feel so in the minority. It’s poorly paced, the “magic” isn’t THAT great, and the whole story with Ruffalo is disgustingly bad. Not to mention he has absolutely no chemistry with the beautiful Melanie Laurent. … Ah, that Melanie.

Lol, hater! I don’t think you’re in a vast minority, though. The response has been mixed. Maybe 60/40? Wasn’t the biggest fan of everything about Ruffalo’s storyline, but it didn’t bother me that much. Agree that he has no chemistry with Mélanie,

I really enjoyed this film. Don’t ever be afraid to stand up and cheer, even in crowd full of people. I’ve seen it happen before. Heck, I’ve even done it. 🙂

This the most positive I’ve heard anyone speak of this one, Fernando. I’m not rushing to see it but I will give a go at some point.

I think it’s the most positive you’re going to hear! This hasn’t been very well-liked but I loved it!

It was very well liked by audiences in the U.S. . A surprise hit, it beat heavily hyped films like The Hangover Part III, Olympus Has Fallen and Pacific Rim. Check its high rating on the IMDb too.

I meant it hadn’t been well-liked critically, though I love that it’s a hit, since it totally deserves that. Didn’t know about the 7.4 rating on IMDb. That’s pretty good!

I quite liked this, thought it was good fun. Not sure i’d say it’s the best film of the year but I think a lot of people have been unfair on it. It kept me entertained and I can;t ask for much more to be honest.

Yes, people have been unfair to it, I agree. I think it’s the best of the year SO FAR, but that will of couse change once we near December.

Hi Fernando! Glad to see you reviewing again man. Well, I can’t say I enjoyed this movie. There are some fun parts but mostly it was frustrating as the payoff were never satisfying enough after all that buildup, plus the ending is preposterous.

Yeah, I remember you not liking this. And I was preparing myself for that, but the opposite ended up happening. I fell in love with this incredibly fun movie!

Nice review. The trailers didn’t do much for me, but I think I’ll check it out now.
