Flash Review: Iron Man 3
After the disappointment that was The Avengers (for me, since everybody and their dog loved it; whatever), Marvel redeems itself with Iron Man 3. Thrilling action set-pieces, peppered with some light humor (not joke after silly joke, which was what bothered me most about Avengers), and a phenomenal cast make IM3 the finest superhero movie this side of The Dark Knight. Thank you, Shane Black.
How big of a role does James Badge Dale have? He’s one of the reasons I really want to see it.

A supporting role, I’d say. He’s one of the villains and he has some cool fight scenes.

I came in with a so-so expectations and this one blew it out of the water! Definitely a big improvement over the second one, thrilling and funny. I think Sir Ben Kingsley stole the show, and nice to see Guy Pearce lookin’ fab too 😀

Same here. I wasn’t super excited about this one, didn’t know what to expect and I ended up loving it!

Glad this franchise still has some legs, was worried it might have gotten a little stale. Very much looking forward to checking it out.

I’m with you man, I loved this. Especially after the shattering disappointment that was Iron Man 2.

I actually didn’t see that one!

You didn’t miss much. Especially if the ‘humorous’ quips in The Avengers bothered you. Iron Man 2 was 100 times worse. The film basically consisted of Robert Downey Jr just spouting rubbish one liners for two hours.

UGH. I would have hated it then. Glad I saved myself a couple of hours.

I’m glad someone else disliked The Avengers… Haven’t seen Iron Man 3 though yet.

There’s few of us, but we exist! People seemed to love that one but I just don’t get why. Hope you see IM3 soon. It’s pretty damn awesome.

I always love your brief mentions of The Avengers. It reminds me that when a movie just plain disappoints me, there’s always someone who (somewhat notoriously) dislikes it even more than myself.
Anyhow, I’m glad this one was good. Might see it, even though the original Iron Man kinda let me down as well. Haven’t seen Iron Man 2, and I guess I can just skip it.
I’m also mind blown by the box office statistics of this one. It surpassed its budget ($200 million) by $100 million dollars before it hit a single US theater! Dear god!

Yes, it’s a juggernaut and it actually deserves to be one. Such a fun movie. Hope you see it soon.

Shane Black wrote a great script with just the right amount of humor. A great follow-up to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, which I loved.

Loved that one too. Very funny. RDJ and Kilmer showed great chemistry.

Nice flash review Fernando.
i will be looking forward to this film. “..the finest superhero movie this side of The Dark Knight…” that’s a solid praise.
but am also particularly curious because its directed by Shane Black. the Lethal Weapon movies are among my favorite actioners.

Thanks a lot, Martin. If you like Shane Black’s work, I think you’ll enjoy this one. It’s pretty fun. Hadn’t enjoyed a superhero movie this way since Amazing Spider-Man but IM3 is better.
