Flash Review: Amour
Intimate, harrowing account of an elderly woman’s (Emanuelle Riva) physical and mental decline after two devastating strokes. The love and devoted attention by her healthier, but still old and slow, husband (Jean-Louis Trintignant) is heartbreaking. Riva and Trintignant deliver noteworthy, committed performances and Michael Haneke spins a simple tale that at times it’s scarier than a horror film since, you know, this could probably happen to any of us.
I want to see this so bad but it still doesn’t open here until the end of the month. I’m anxious!!!!

Nice review. This was a fantastic movie and one of Michael Haneke’s best. It’s different than his other movies but is still very haunting.

Very eager to see this but I have a feeling i’ll end up quite depressed afterwards. Still, I shall endure in the name of blogging! 🙂

I totally understand. Everybody I know has recommended me to see this movie, but I can’t bring myself to watch it. I have seen the trailer and even though it didn’t show much of the story, you can feel the pain and despair. I’m afraid that I’m gonna be a total train-wreck after seeing it.

Maybe I was too overcaffeinated or something but this didn’t depress me like I thought it would. Still found it very affecting, though. Hope you see it soon.
