We’re used to exceptional quality from Pixar, so when I state that their latest, Brave, is also one of their weakest, it’s not the worst thing I could say.
While it’s not at the level of Ratatouille, WALL·E or Up, Brave, with all its Scottish charm, is very fun and, like a true Disney coproduction, wears its heart on its sleeve.
The “momma bear” (quite literally) is a hoot; watching it walk and try to talk was hilarious and the highlight of a funny but surprisingly poignant film. The slapstick comedy might get a little repetitive and tiresome, and most characters are incredibly annoying, but with some of the best work by Pixar animators yet, you won’t mind a lot.
I know I will eventually see it but I’m feel it’s going to be disappointing. Nice review.

I LOVE it too and I’m not Scottish 😉 I knew you’re not as keen on it as I am Fernando, but hey that’s ok, at least you still enjoyed it somewhat. Glad I didn’t read any review before I saw this as I was quite surprised by that momma bear plot, but it would’ve been easily spoiled if I had read yours first 😉

Glad you could tolerate this one. I was pretty bored. A week ago, someone at my church’s youth group got into a debate with me about this movie. She loved it and was boasting about how the princess here was original and better than even Cinderella. I probably would have slapped her in the face if no one else was around.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty fun. That bear was a hoot. Loved it. And the visuals were pretty amazing. But definitely one of Pixar’s weakest, in my opinion. And nowhere near Cinderella.

Nice review man, but I have to say I was massively underwhelmed by this one. Thought it was nowhere near Pixar’s usual standards, and even fell short of the output of a number of other studios.

Yeah, like I said, I enjoyed it beacuse I had extremely low expectations. It was somewaht fun but that was about it. Nothing to get excited about and certainly not at the level of Pixar.

Totally in agreement with you here Fernando. It yhad its moments, but I didn’t care for the main character. Couldn’t get beyond the fact that she was just a selfish brat.

I haven’t seen this one as I was put off by the negative reviews out there. I will someday though and hopefully I’ll enjoy it up to a point, as you say you did too because of low expectations. Nice review by the way 😀

I liked this to a point and my little brother had a great time watching. It’s actually good, but I rated it half a star lower do to the fact this is Pixar. It’s great to look a and I quite enjoyed the soundtrack. Story let me down though. Great review – cool poster too.
