Dos Años
Committed to Celluloid (né FernandoRafael) turns two today! Two trips around the Sun ago, I posted my first review here. The movie in question was Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Biutiful, my favorite film of 2010.
First of all, I want to thank Mark Hobin. It was he who inspired me to start my own blog after we struck up a little cyber-friendship over at Flixster; he was also my first (and for a long time, my only) follower.
Now I have a respectable amount of followers, likes and visits (although I wish I had more, if I’m being completely honest) but I’m still amazed that people like to read what I have to say and take the time to not only do that, but also click the ‘like’ button, type in a comment or start up a good discussion. I know I’m not the most consistent blogger, and I still can’t believe how there are people out here with full-time jobs who still manage to post every single day, sometimes more than once (seriously, I would love some advice, because I never can find the time).
I want to thank every single one of you for every time you’ve read one of my posts, liked them, commented on them, invited me to collaborate, pointed out any mistakes, questioned my decisions, agreed with my thoughts. Thanks for everything. I’ve learned so much and I love doing this, even if sometimes it doesn’t show. Here’s to many years more.
Happy belated blog-a-versarry!! Sorry I’m late, seems like I’m late to both your and GB’s b’day party, ahah. I should thank Mark Hobin as well for getting you to blog, otherwise we wouldn’t have ‘met.’ 🙂
P.S. Cool picture there of Mr Loki!

Congrats dude 🙂
My advice for posting daily is simple; start a project which gets cool guest contributors such as yourself and let them do all the work 🙂

November 14th….I’ll mark it on my calendar! 😉
Your blog and you have gone a long way, it’s amazing. I’ll admit, some of your features (i.e. “From and Inspired by”) aren’t always as interesting as others (i.e. “Cinephile Problems”, “Thoughts Upon Rewatch”, and of course the reviews themselves), but I still love reading and discussing your work.

Oh my gosh you are so welcome. Thanks for the mention. This was a really nice little write-up. I know what you mean about finding the time to post. My general time between seeing a movie and writing about it is 3 days. I am just in awe of people who post once a day (or more!). Regardless of what you continue to do in life, I hope you always find time to post something every now and then. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog for two years and will continue to do so. 🙂

Congrats, Fernando! I can’t believe you’ve been at this for two years, that’s really great!
If you want to take my advice for posting and having to work a full-time job…Find a job that lets you post from work. If WordPress was suddenly blocked at my job, I’d barely have the time to post anything let alone read anything, so I’m very thankful for that.
Now, here’s to two more years!

I’m not sure that I can give you advice because I have more time to write than you, but here’s something that worked for me. I know you followed my 100 movies series. Maybe try something like that, and pledge to post one per day? If you don’t have time to write a full review, write a mini-review and hit the important points. I just noticed that my blog was started in April 2011, so you win 🙂
