A Night at the Opera
Hello followers! As you’re reading this, I’m with my parents at the newly restored amphitheatre over at Casa de la Cultura Playas “Cortijo San José” watching a super-hyped, widely publicized production of Georges Bizet‘s Carmen.
Here in Tijuana, there’s a pretty big festival called “Ópera en la Calle” (Opera in the Street). I’ve attended a few times and it is pretty fun but this is my first time watching a full opera. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it. Hope the actual thing is as good as this:
Sounds like a great fest, Fernando. Tell me, have you ever seen Carlos Saura’s film version of ‘Carmen’ from ’83? If you haven’t, I highly recommend it. Thanks for sharing this.

No, I hadn’t heard of that one, actually. I’ll try to check it out. I also tried to get my hands on a copy of Otto Preminger’s “Carmen Jones” but I had no luck.

I’m dying to know; was it anything like The Muppets? 😀
