Christopher Nolan [30-Jul-1970]
Today marks the 42nd birthday of Christopher Jonathan James Nolan who, along with his brother (also named Jonathan) has crafted some of the best movies in recent history. A three-time Oscar nominee, Nolan’s films are dark, smart and entertaining. His filmography is quite short but filled with gems. Just look at those titles:
- Following (1998)
- Memento (2000)
- Insomnia (2002)
- Batman Begins (2005)
- The Prestige (2006)
- The Dark Knight (2008)
- Inception (2010)
- The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Happy birthday, Mr. Nolan!

Nice to see you have a post dedicated to Nolan as well. I have a post going up for him in about 22 minutes. Fun fact (though I’m not sure I’ve told you this already): I know someone named Chris Nolan and someone named Emma Thomas (Emma Thomas has produced a few of Nolan’s films, I believe). Though sadly, they aren’t the real Nolan and Thomas.

Haha, that’s cool. Emma Thomas is also Nolan’s wife. Are your Chris and Emma married?

Uhh, I highly doubt it. They’re like thirteen/fourteen years old lol. And I had no clue Thomas and Nolan were married.

Haha, let’s hope they get married in the future and become rich selling autographed photos of Chris Nolan and Emma Thomas over the Internet! haha

That graphic is immense! I feel like he’s peering into my soul! I love Nolan, and finally got Rob to watch Memento recently which has been a favourite of mine for a long time. I think I need to take a look at his older films though; there’s no doubt that I’m missing out!

Haha yeah, I was browsing on Tumblr and found that graphic and thought that I HAD to have it on my blog. Glad you got Rob to watch Memento; it’s a fantastic film. And please seek out his older films. I’ve seen everything he’s done and I like it all. I’d rank them:
1. The Prestige
2. The Dark Knight
3. Inception
4. Memento
5. The Dark Knight Rises
6. Batman Begins
7. Following
8. Insomnia
