Kevin Spacey [26-July-1959]
53 years ago today, the world welcomed Kevin Spacey, celebrated actor, director, producer and occasional singer. Spacey has won two Oscars, one for ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for The Usual Suspects in 1995 and another for ‘Best Actor’ for American Beauty in 1999. He’s, at least in my opinion, one of the greatest living actors; one of those I’m happy to see in anything. For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, he was also pretty awesome as the surprise villain in one of the definitive movies of the 90’s. Spacey shines as well in L.A. Confidential, Margin Call and Horrible Bosses, among others. Can you tell I’m a fan? Happy birthday, Kevin!

(That was fast.)
I’m about to post about Stanley Kubrick, like I did for Harrison Ford almost two weeks ago. 🙂

I like that illustration! Y’know, I wasn’t too fond of Spacey before but he’s slowly growing on me. I even liked him as Lex Luthor, and he’s great in The Usual Suspect, LA Confidential and the Bobby Darrin biopic Beyond the Sea. This guy could sing, too!

Wow he looks good for 53! I love him in American Beauty and Horrible Bosses. I haven’t seen K-Pax (although I’ve read the book); I’ve heard he’s amazing in that too so will have to check out that film at some point. Fantastic graphics again!

Thanks! And like I said, I can see him in ANYTHING but my favorite performances from him are his Oscar-winning turns in The Usual Suspects and American Beauty. I don’t know if you’ve seen that 90’s movie I hint at in my post (I don’t wanna spoil it because it’s a surprise appearance) but I love him there too.
