My new BFF
Hello everyone! I know it seems like I’ve forgotten all about you but I can assure you, that’s not the case. I’ve just been very busy with work and in my “free time” I’ve been proofreading a friend’s novel so I haven’t gotten to reading your latest posts, much less write my own. Just wanted to swing by quickly and tell you about something that happened to me yesterday and made me feel all warm and fuzzy:
I was at work and in came a customer, a girl no older than 13. I noticed she had a Loki (the superb villain from The Avengers) pin on her shirt. I asked her where had she gotten that and she told me that her sister (or cousin?) had made it for her, and proceeded to high-five me in celebration of our mutual love for Loki. She sat with her friends for a while and I forgot all about her but, just as she was about to leave, she came up to me, handed me a sheet of paper folded in half and left with a smile on her face. I looked at it and what she gave me was in fact an anime-styled drawing of Loki. I melted. It made my day 🙂
What do you think of Ana Sofía, my new friend and her little present? Doesn’t she make you hopeful for upcoming generations?
Pretty nerdy if I may say so myself, but I kind of which I could have a day like that.

Looks like you’ve been busy man. Proofreading your friend’s novel? How cool is that. What is it about if you don’t mind me asking?
Oooh, I like Ana Sofía already, she’d be my BFF too 🙂 That girl has great taste! I love Loki and that is an awesome drawing! She should pursue being a comic book artist, she’s got talent, definitely.

It’s not cool, actually. I love my friend to death but her novel is terrible. It’s like an erotic novel for tween girls, if that was an actual genre, haha! It’s about a 16 year-old girl who falls for her older, British, History teacher. The things I do for my friends!
Ana Sofía rules! Yes, she has a talent for drawing. She really should pursue that career.

What a sweet little story!
About the novel – it doesn’t seem like my cup of tea, but it sounds like something that is sellable. And that’s not a bad thing. If it becomes succesful you’ll have a little part in that. 🙂

I feel your pain with neglecting films; I’ve been terrible for the past month or so. You have been far less negligent with your blog than I have with mine though! Plus proof reading a friend’s novel is a more than valid excuse! How is it coming along? I always find it useful to get other people to write my work, you can never have enough constructive criticism!
That Loki drawing is awesome! It certainly does make me hopeful for upcoming generations 🙂

That’s OK, Amy. Sometimes we’re just busy and our blog is the first to suffer. It’s all good as long as we come back 😉
About my friend’s novel, it’s all done. She actually did it for a contest, so were working with a deadline hehe. But I finished on time and she sent it. Let’s see how it goes. It was definitely not my cup of tea but I’m sure there are lots of young girls who’d get a kick out of her book.
