June’s Fan of the Month
Hello readers! Hope you guys are having a fantastic Sunday! Just wanted to let you all know I was named June’s Fan of the Month over at Movie Writing!
First of all, I want to thank Amy for this cool mention! It’s an honor since I love her blog, and it’s always nice to get our little conversations going, whether at Movie Writing or on here (even on Facebook). Being June’s FoTM is extra special because it’s the month of my birth, and what better way to celebrate 22 years of being on this planet than talking about my favorite subject, film!
So, please head on over to Movie Writing and check that feature out!
That’s really cool. I will go over to check it out soon. I also didn’t know your birthday was in June, so is mine.

Very surprised that your guilty pleasures are the High School Musical films. Not saying that’s a bad thing, I just don’t like them. I think they’re good, but destroyed by utter cheese. I remember my mother, my sister and I went to the theater to support my sister’s needs in seeing High School Musical 3 when I was in fifth grade. During one scene, I remember my at-the-time-seven-year-old sister leaning into my mother’s face, sighing, and saying, “I love the way Zac Efron sweats when he’s playing basketball…” I was so humiliated and disturbed that I was ready to get shot.
About your least favorite, I’m shocked even more. I’ll try not to go into a rant, since it’s one of my favorites…

Yeah, I think I hadn’t discussed my appreciation for HSM before. Granted, it’s been years since I’ve seen any of those so maybe I’ve outgrown them but for a while there I was really hooked. And that thing with your sister is very funny but I can understand how embarrassing it might have been for you!
About Avatar, like I said, it’s hard to pick your least favorite movie, and maybe that one isn’t, but I hate it SO MUCH.

I’m wondering: if it wasn’t the top-grossing film, would you hate it quite as much? Just wondering, not accusing you of…bias or anything.

Maybe I’d hate it A LITTLE less but I still would. I hated before it took that place, after all.

Ah. I guess I’m surprised you hate it because:
…it’s one of my favorites (as I mentioned)…
…I thought it was an ingenious twist to a familiar story…
…it was nominated for Best Picture…
…it has an 83% score on the “Tomatometer”…
…it’s in that book “1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die”…
But I hate Dirty Harry, which has been critically acclaimed as about 150,000x as much as a classic, so I guess I shouldn’t be talking, haha. Plus, it’s all opinion. 🙂
