Hannah and Her Sisters
The more Allen films I see, the more I’m aware that most of them follow the same format, yet they’re all incredibly different. It’s a testament to his talent that he can turn in dozens of films about relationship woes set to jazzy scores and manage to keep people laughing and charming his audience. Woody shines as director, actor and, most importantly, writer. The scenes in which he’s on screen bring the comic relief. Barbara Hershey, Mia Farrow, Michael Caine, Max Von Sydow and especially Dianne Wiest are great at the more dramatic parts.
