The Other Guys [2010]

The first hour is completely nonsensical but explosively funny. The dialog is terrible, but Mark Wahlberg makes it work. He’s perfect in the film. Will Ferrell fluctuates between hilarious and incredibly annoying through his entire career. Here, he’s sort of pointing towards the latter. Eva Mendes and Dwayne Johnson are two comic talents given too little to do. Now, imagine this ludicrousness, but without the laughs. Even by the not-so-high standards set by the film’s first half, the second one’s a total waste of time.
